Education

A major part our religion is seeking knowledge. In fact, the first ayahs in the Quran from a chronological order are Read [O Muhammad!] in the name of your Lord who created. (Q96:1) He created man from a clot. (96:2) Read, and your Lord is the Most Honorable (96:3) who taught with the pen from surah Al-Alaq.

In many other places in the Quran and Sunnah, seeking knowledge and learning is encouraged and sometimes it takes a mandatory form.

In that spirit, one of the VMCF main goals is to InshAllah start a formal school. While we are working and progressing slowly towards this goal, we look for opportunities to educate our community about our religion.

We stay involved in this important dimension of our faith. We have currently, three programs:

1- Arabic and Quran School each Saturday at 10 am (10am -112 noon) -all ages

2- Wednesday Islamic Studies 5:30 -7:00 PM (up to the second grade)

3-Aqeeda Class -Every Saturday at 3 pm (3pm -5-pm) (Ages 12 and up)

4- Adults Programs: There are two adult programs: Telwah and Tajweed for sisters (Rules of Quran Recitation). Every Friday from 5:30 -7 and biweekly (First and third Friday of the Month ) at 7pm. The first Friday is at Alakram and third is at EMU with a month potluck.
